TEAM is launching a series of new courses developed specifically for medical students, residents, and fellows who wish to deepen their knowledge of autism and developmental disorders. These elective courses provide an overview of important topics relevant to this patient population as well as opportunities to delve further into specialized subject areas.

This course is aimed at educating medical students across the country through an open-access, virtual curriculum.

Learning objective:
This course will increase medical students' exposure and awareness of autism and developmental disabilities. Better awareness of these conditions will help medical students reduce stigma experienced by this patient population and improve health care outcomes.
Launching January 2026
This course will provide residents and fellows with an open-access, virtual curriculum designed to be flexible to meet the needs of their demanding schedules.
The curriculum consists of four individual courses. Each are designed to be taken over one week or 8-10 half days. After the first course, the others can be completed in any order.
Course 1: An Overview and Overall Approach to Addressing the Needs of Patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities
Course 2: Assessment and Management of Commonly Co-occuring Psychiatric Disorders in Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities
Course 3: Addressing Specialized Psychiatric Concerns in Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities
Course 4: Assessment and Management of Commonly Co-occurring Medical Diagnoses in Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities
